Midnighter is a fictional superhero who appears in comic books published by WildStorm, an imprint of DC Comics. A masked vigilante similar to Batman (though unlike Batman, he has enhanced abilities and often kills his opponents), he is best known as a member of the rogue superhero team, The Authority. Midnighter was created by writer Warren Ellis and artist Bryan Hitch and first appeared in Stormwatch (vol. 2) No. 4 in 1998.

Midnighter is gay and in a relationship with fellow The Authority member Apollo.

In June 2016, DC announced a new six issue miniseries starring Midnighter and Apollo and written by Steve Orlando.[1]
